This Privacy Policy explains how Maple Grove Line ("we", "us") handles personal information in connection with our website and the August 8–9, 2026 festival at Hakuba Mountain Grounds in Nagano, Japan. We are a small independent festival, and we keep our handling of personal data deliberately narrow: we collect only what we need to answer your questions, manage press and artist relations, and run the event safely. We do not sell personal data, and we do not build advertising profiles.

What we collect

When you email us or use the inquiry form, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your name, email address, and the contents of your message, and sometimes a phone number if you provide one. If you contact us about accessibility, we may receive details about your access needs so we can prepare for your visit. We do not require an account to browse this site, and we do not ask for more information than a given request needs.

Tickets for Maple Grove Line are sold through LivePocket, an independent ticketing platform. When you buy a ticket, your payment and order details are handled by LivePocket under its own privacy policy, not ours. We receive only the information necessary to admit ticket-holders and to communicate essential event updates.

How we use your information

We use the information you give us to reply to inquiries, to coordinate press, artist, and vendor arrangements, to respond to accessibility and lost-property requests, and to send essential, event-related messages such as schedule changes, weather notices, or site-safety information. Where you have explicitly opted in, we may also send occasional festival announcements; you can withdraw that consent at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.

Cookies and analytics

This site relies on essential cookies for basic functionality, such as remembering your cookie-consent choice and your interface preferences. We do not load advertising tags or social-media tracking pixels. If we enable privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics in future, it will be limited to anonymous usage statistics with no cross-site tracking. We share personal information only where it is necessary to run the festival or required by law: with our ticketing provider (LivePocket), with service providers who help us operate the site or send email on our behalf, with venue and safety partners where required for event security, and with public authorities where we are legally obliged to disclose. Any provider acting on our behalf is bound to use the data only for the purpose we specify. We never sell or rent personal information.

Data retention

We keep correspondence and contact details for as long as needed to handle your request and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations under Japanese law. After that period, we delete or anonymise the records. Information held for an active opt-in mailing list is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have inaccuracies corrected, to request deletion (subject to any legal retention period), to receive a copy in a portable format, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Security and children

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we limit who can access your data and review our practices regularly. Maple Grove Line is a general-audience event and this site is not directed at children under 16; we do not knowingly collect their personal data without a guardian's involvement.
